I picked up an actual printed copy of the Oregon 2001 fishing regulations. On the cover appears to be a dude hoisting a nice non-finclipped steelhead by its gills.
Can I get a second opinion on that? Comments? Sure looks like an adipose fin to me.

Second opinon is That's a springer on the Clack.
OK, I'm guessing about the Clack part, but it's definately a nook, and since that looks like the clack, that would make it a springer also.

No worries Phish, we've all misidentified fish before. Download the regs from the ODFW site, the picture's clearer there anyway.

Hummmmmm do you get out much? I mean, I'm not being rude or anything.Yes you need to fish more. Hold it you wouldn't be the guy who took the non-finclipped steelhead into fishermans marine thinking it was a springer. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't think that fish was from the clackamas I think it was from the store. The whole picture looked pretty phony to me.

Actually it very well may have been manufactured, I think I've seen that picture Before. Either from Alumaweld or Stevens Marine.

OK, got that photo right here, I concede the salmon-ness of that fish. What a tidy boat though! No rods or nets ... no bananas.
Yes I should fish more, I have this pesky thing we call a "job," I should get over that.
And NO, I wouldn't ever take any fish to FMS ... eat or release, that's all. Though that was the first joke that came to mind after I realized my public boneheadedness!
Maybe that fish is from "Photoshop" !

Ok heres the deal. I caught the fish. K16 with sardine wrap 8 passes out. It is a Chinook. In fact a up river bright caught in October. The fish still had sea lice. The gentleman holding the fish is the vp of Alumaweld. The picture is real. After landing the fish we placed it on ice and ran over to the clack. Then launched the sled and drift boat and did the shoot. Good to know that the appearance of spring was accurate. PS the fish ate great!!
