I need to install my EP-10 Fuel Flow Sensor which requires me to cut the fuel line between my fuel water separator and the engine.

My question is does anyone have a good method of clamping the fuel line (that doesn't damage it) so once I make the cut gas doesn't go shooting all over? To top it off I have a full gas tank so running it dry would take to long.

Thanks for any feedback.

You can buy a tool for clamping fuel lines I think you can get it at most part stores or if you are in the Vancouver area you can use mine.

Couldn't you just take the filter off and fire up the motors to drain the hoses out?

I use 2 small vice grips. Put something between the jaws and the hose. I have done this for many years on air hoses at the factory and have never had a problem. Probably close to the same as what Eulachon has, but useful for other things!

I also saw these at Harbor Freight. Five bucks each.

I bought two of the ones pictured from HF they are crap. The serated portin stripped on both pair and the plastic ends popped off and broke. I bought some similar ones from Parkrose for a little more money and they work much better. As for the gas line I have always used vise grips on fuel lines it doesn't damage the rubber and if it does you need new fuel line it is too old or brittle.

use a rag on the jaws of your vise grips it will protect hose and stop flow don't use too much pressure.
Hey let me know how your EP10 works out I have lowrance 337 and it has cause me nothing but trouble since I installed it. You need the 60ohm end connectors and one extra "T" NEMA fitting if they didn't tell you that when you bought your EP10. with out these 2 items your EP10 won't work. it will give you GPS antenna not found errors.
I still have problems with mine. can't get all the fuel flow functions to work. Lowrance has been of no help. Wish I never bought my 337.

I'm having trouble too. I installed the latest software to the 337, but I still can't program the fuel flow stuff. For instance, even after I changed the units of measure to "gallons", it still shows the fuel flow in "liters per hour". Also, it won't let me program it for the size of tank, etc., so I can't track fuel usage / fuel remaining. I'm very disappointed so far.
