Anyone caught any Salmon in the Columbia this year???

Fishermen are catching just a few early springers in the lower Columbia. The fish return per angler hour is always very low this early; but a few lucky anglers have caught a prized fish! The early ones aren't numerous and are mostly the Willamette fish. A few are caught all the way up to O.C. The fish stack for a while there as do the overcrowds of fishermen. Reports from O.C. are of sporadic very light catches with quite a few boats out there already. The nets are due in the lower Columbia up to Kelly Point in late Feb. and early March, so the fishing will be slowed even further until about a week after the nets come out. By then more numerous groups of fish will be coming in and that's when I think it's more worth your water time. There are other good fish easier to catch at this time.
