That's right I said the "A" word! Don't hold it against me.
My little bro is selling my Dad one of his boats, but they don't have a clue what it's worth. I looked on boattraderonline, but couldn't come up with anything. So give me your opinion, and like I said this is changing hands in the family and is not for sale to anybody, I'll won't let him sell it.

1978 16' Alumaweld Flatbottom, 1978 80hp Merc w/pump, 1978 5hp Merc kicker, both have less than 200 hours on them (his father-in-law had a family disput and it sat for about 15 years), rod holders, anchor, oars, etc., painted a lovely shade of green, brown, black, and tan, home made duck blind system, center console. Comes with a rusted up, single axle Calkins trailer that I can never get the lights to work on at 4 in the morning.
Like I said this boat is not available to anyone, I don't want to get in trouble here, nor do I want this boat to leave the family.
So give me your dollar value, I know some of you have to have similiar boats.

Dave,

My guess would be around 5k - 6k on the market. But for dad (not taken into consideration what it might have cost him to raise your brother!) $2500 - $3000 would be a deal.

I had the identical boat, except that the boat and merc were both 1980 and it was an 18 footer with a 115 pump. Included a very nice full blind, 3 dozen H&H magnum mallard and pintail dekes and a lowrance X70 finder. Didn't get much interest at $6,500. Finally ended up selling for 6K to a friend. Hope that helps...Joe

Go with 4k. Boats like flat bottoms are hard to find these days. We've sold a number of them for that. Good Luck.
