I have a 1996 40 hp Force that fowls only the top plug. bottom plug is ok. any ideas what is going on? thanks,LeRoy:help:

What speeds do you run your engine. I've heard that low speeds will cause this on some engines, as well as running too cold. Perhaps a thermostat problem?

check the value of the plugs, make sure they are the same heat range, for a start. a leaking wire causing poor ignition, compression check would be in line.
