I will be mooring the boat. I need a engine oil heater that goes into the dipstick tube. I have a 6.0liter Chevy marinized by Kodiak. Does anybody know where I can get the heater, or have a better idea to prevent freezing? It is an enclosed cooling system, so maybe a heater in the heat transfer case. A light bulb under the dog box may be sufficient. What are your opinions?:help:

nappa auto parts had them the problem with the dip mstick style heaters are they wont regulate the temp or have any automatic shut offs, i went to baxters auto parts and got a magnetic block heater that has a max temp that wont hurt you motor. hope this helps.

You will have a hard time finding dip stick heaters in Oregon as they are not UL qapproved. My house almost burned down because of the magnetic heater. I had it on a drain pipe that used to freeze and it caught fire! When I moored my sled in the winter I just drained all the necessart water and used 10w40 oil. No problems never froze and always started.:twocents:
