I got a new grease gun and was greasing my jet pump. It was a little tight going on the fitting and now I can't get it off.
Any suggestions? I've pulled as hard as I dare. I hesitant to go too caveman on it as I rather not break the fitting.

Yea buddy they sure do hang on good sometimes . Most of the time a sharp yank instead of a steady pull will getem . also you can try releaving the pressure if any on the hose with pressure relief on gun body or remove hose ... last resort a small pry bar , pry against the female gun fitting not the zirc fitting ... good luck .

Unscrew the fitting before you break it, put on a new one. Should be able to unscrew the hose and replace it too if need be, or exchange it, sound like a defective hose.

Sounds like there might be some back pressure on the hose. If that is the case you can unscrew the hose from the gun. If the grease gun tip is bad you can go to your local auto part store and buy a new tip for under $2.00. You can also try and wiggle the tip of the hose up and down, which might relieve the pressure off of the hose.

I've had to put a flat blade screw driver blade between a gun and zerk on my boat to push gun off the fitting.

I eventually just got a bigger wrench and a bigger pair of pliers and was able to unscrew the tip which had siezed. Once I had the tip unscrewed I was able to disasemble it from the inside and get it off.
I tried it one more time today, and the tip stuck again. However, lesson learned form before and I disasembled it again and got it off. Took the advice from a previous post and bought a new tip. This one works much better.

as long as folks are reading this post about the jet zerk. From time to time its a good idea to make sure everything is screwed on tight. Mine fell off at some point last year (the female part on the hose) and had to order a new one.
It had started to get lose and had a hard time keeping it stuck on the male zerk - after replacing I found that by tightening or losing the threads of the female end dictates the fit tighter or loser when placing it back on the male end.
I also found that after having my seals replaced that I use very very very little pump grease now.
I'm sure that 2nd paragraph was hard to follow - but hopefully you get the idea.
