I just got of the phone with my dad. He landed 3 steelhead today and 1 yesterday on the main stem of the Coquille river. Last saturday while plunking a #2 hot pink spin-n-glow he caught a 25 lb chrome bright sealice infested hen chinook. He said the eggs were really delveoped so we figure it is a really late fall fish.
Whats the latest any of you guys caught a fall chinnok that was in still good shape? The latest Ive got one is Jan. 3 on the Siletz.
It sounds like the fishing is fairly decent on the south coast. All the fish my dad and his buddy have been getting have been at the head of tidewater. I may need to head down there soon.
