I'm thinking of converting the 06 yamaha T8 to tiller throttle and steering. How expensive is it, how much work, and is it realistic. I assume it's something done fairly often, right?
Thanks,
GBS

I don't know how often this would be done. I'd guess about 95% of the T8s on the market are tiller set-ups from the factory. I don't ever recall seeing a T8 without a tiller.
My brother had a tiller added to his '06 F90 and IIRC it was about $600. I don't see why it would be much different to add a tiller to a smaller motor.

Should be able to get the kit, cables, engine remote controller, steering cable and wheel. DIY using used and aftermarket you might get it done for $600. Do yourself a favor and use a no feedback steering wheel.
Is it already electric start/tilt? more if you want to add that.

I understand the part is about 400.00 alone. Wouldn't it be cheaper to sell the motor and buy a new one with tiller? T-8's seem to sell well in any configuration.
