I'm looking for a low water boat for the Clark Fork over here in Mt. Been looking at the RO guide boat and skiff, Koffler RMT boat, the Hog Island HDPE boats, and Boulder Boat Works HDPE as well. Several of the guides over here have the BBW boats on order, but I haven't seen one in person. Has anyone here used the HDPE boats? I am the worlds worst fly fisherman so I need every advantage I can get, I live just off the river so I can float it every day after work. My steelhead boat catches too much wind, so instead of fishing I have to put my back to it and row all evening. Any recommendations or ideas? thanks, Mike

My boat is made of HDPE and it is very durable..I do drift in it but it is better at going up-stream..

That's a heck of an outfit, but not exactly what I had in mind. My wife might get a little cold hanging off the back, but it is cheaper than another drift boat. Mike

Why not check out a two person pontoon craft? I know of atleast one manufacturer that is making boats with long, but low profile toons to help in windy conditions.
You might consider a Lavro. The have a light flexible hull. The biggest issue is storage.

Have you considered a Fishrite. They will build the boat your way, very flexible and priced decent. I have not heard anything bad about this builder.

I ended up getting a Ro Skiff, I looked at the Hog Island Boat and was really impressed with it, but it was still going to catch the wind like my tin drifter, and I couldn't afford the Boulder Boat Works outfit. I've got a Smithrock River boat for pulling plugs for steelhead, I was looking for a trout catching machine. Mike

The more boats the better.
