Man, what a wet November. Not a good month to be a fishing guide. Lots of days spent looking at the river, wondering if they will make it to fish the next day, watching the weather (on every channel and on every web site) trying to guess if what will really happen. Hearing everyone say high winds heavy rains there is no way it will fish, cancelling trips to see the next day that it never came and it was sunny:confused: Man, wish I could be wrong as often as the weather man.

I did make it out a few days between the rains. Fishing was great when we did get out. A number of dark fish were around after the rains, and we had to pick through to keep some chrome. The worst day I fished we managed to end the day one short of a limit and kept 5 chrome fish for 3 clients. The best day I had we landed 25 and got 5 doubles and a triple. I fished a number of different rivers, most were crowded and all were high and off color and high water tactics were in order. I watched other boats come down the river fishing all the regular salmon holes and fishing the way they would if the waters was clear; most of the boats had nothing. Bouncing eggs in the soft water, getting your bait to where the fish were hiding seemed to be the key.

A couple shots from this last week. My camera died on my best day.

With the rains all November, we got out when we could between the rains, and now we are getting a great run of chinooks a little later than we usually do.

It's been a fun week since the rains have stopped. As is common with late season fishing, we have had to pick through for the bright fish, but that is always fun too. With the bucks we still have a little leeway (a little grey or red on the bellies), but any thing less than the perfect chrome hen should be released this time of year because the meat will not be good enough to eat. Don't be afraid to release the fish to find the super chromers.

One of the last rainy days.

Rich came out fishing with his boys for his 60th birthday. They seemed pretty happy that we had to reschedule their two day November trip to December.

Expect awesome chinook fishing right up to the end of December this year. Plus the steelhead have started showing up so a mix bag is there to be had. We will try to get up some more pics soon. We have a bunch more but just been too busy:smash: :smash: .
