Fished the alsea this morning, down at barclay's break. Hooked three fish landed one he was a chrome hatchery buck. Then we went to the siletz and my girlfriend hooked two on that river , she landed one beautiful hatchery hen. The fishing I would say is pretty slow, for the most part we hit a ton of good water today and only hooked five fish. SEE YA MIKIE.

Mikie! You're unbelieveable man. Seems like you're always finding the fish. I'm gonna give the NF Alsea or the Siletz a try tomorrow. Haven't figured out which one though. Wish me luck!

I spoke with some yaquina bay folks today who opted to fish metalheads in the siletz because of the non-existant sturgeon fishery at home. Report was good!

FISH!........GET IN THE BOAT!!!!!

Hey Mike H. There's not much water in the north fork the river's running 3feet or less , if your going to the alsea try from river's edge down. Only a hundred fish came on the rise last weekend and the count is only 500+ fish suck's huh? Well when my rib's get healed up , and the doc says I can row my boat again we'll have to hook up and do a summer trip on the siletz, hope you don't mind getting outfished by my girlfriend . Good Luck . SEE YA MIKIE.

Mikie - A float down the Siletz next summer sounds great! Oh, and I have no problem being out-fished by a girl. My girlfriend is always doing that to me http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif!
Thanks for the tips regarding the NF Alsea. I'll wait for a little more water. Tomorrow I think we'll be heading over to Siletz country. Still looking to land my first of the season.

Don't tell me that you guys actually believe this guy. I fished at Barclay's today. No fish were hooked, and certainly none landed. I don't know why this guy posts these ridiculous messages. I wish that fishing was good enough to hook those types of numbers. Every single time this guy goes out he hooks a minimum of five fish. I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!! You will never make me a believer. Save your lies for the guys on the bank. I open up your messages hoping to see some valid information, but all I see a a bunch of meaningless bull@#$t. When this guys gives you a good report for the Alsea or Siletz, I encourage you to ask around. This fishing is not nearly as good as he makes it out to be.

Hey Mike H-
I usually fish the NF Alsea quite a bit, and I wouldn't touch it at a level below 5 ft. I think it fishes optimally at about 7 ft. Lots of good water down low in the river, though, when the level is as pitiful as it is now.

Hey Zobe - Ease off the accusations! Just because a guy is constantly giving good reports doesn’t mean he’s full of bull. So what if you got skunked today @ Barclay’s. Maybe you were there when he wasn’t? That’s a pretty big stretch of water and I’m sure you didn’t have an eye on everyone the whole day. He did say he lost 2 and landed one. Maybe he doesn’t start screaming every time he hooks one.
I put 100% trust in Mikie’s posts. In mid December he wrote an awesome report for Barclay’s. I was there 2 days later, saw some pretty good action, and had 3 takedowns on my bobber.
Don’t be jealous if this guy is a better fisherman than most of us. Keep up the good work Mikie!

Did anyone else catch fish on the Siletz this weekend? I fished on sat. morning w/o seeing any fish caught or hooking any. I'm not sure what your using Mikie but I wouldn't mind knowing with success like that. anyhow did anyone see the pictures at the logsden store of the multiple 20 plus pound steelies. I sure would like to hook on of those bad oscars.

I was at Barclays all day. He didn't hook any fish, I am positive. My friend was at Moonshine on the Siletz. No fish were hooked there either.
Mikie is full of crap. Everyone knows that Barclay's is good in December. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. The early fish come in with the tides when the water is low. He probably said that he got a bunch of hookups when everyone was slamming fish all around him.

I fished the Moonshine area today for about three hours in the afternoon. Saw one fish landed. That was it. The water was very fishable, just nothing there. I usually don't start on the Siletz until February but decided to give it a shot with the dismal action on the Alsea. Without any fish in the rivers, I guess I will have more time for school work. Damn that sucks.

I am a graduate student in Structural Engineering and Forest Products. I got my B.S. here in Civil Engineering. I have been fishing the local rivers for the past five years. I'm willing to bet we've run into one another on the river.

CnD - Were you the guy I ran into today at Moonshine? You were with a girl? If you are who I think you are, I was the guy in the blue truck next to you. We chatted for a few minutes. I apologize if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
Yeah, I saw just one fish landed today. Man, this weather is killing me. Just a little drizzle today and nothing more. We need some rain!
Zobe - Man, you've got a real problem with Mikie. Or is it just a bad case of jealousy http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif? Give him a break. If you don't believe his reports that's fine with me. Just keep it to yourself! And where do you get the idea that he fished the Siletz @ Moonshine? It's a big river and it "doesn't take a rocket scientist" to figure out that is a lot more water than just Moonshine Park.

Ask him where he caught that fish. He will say moonshine. Any bets? I go to OSU also. Maybe you and I should team up sometime on the Siletz. If nothing else we can go and say that we hooked fish. Just kidding. I will keep my opinions to myself. I do know the truth though. I am not going to waste my time anymore reading his messages. I have been keeping up on him since December. None of his stories match up. Oh well, whatever.

Yup, that was me Mike H. Wow, what a small world. I took my girlfriend to the river today to check out the scene. Too early in my opinion. All I did was donate some gear to the river. However, I think I will stick with that river for the rest of the season. I don't like the combat situation on the Alsea.
Pray for rain. I can't wait to drift the river (especially after seeing the Logsden pics, WOW!)
Keep me posted on how you do. I will do the same.

CnD - Nice meeting you today http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Yeah, I know what you mean about the gear donations. I lost so many rigs in that hole that we pulled out and went upstream. Water was a lot more colored up there http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
Give me an email if you ever want to go. Carpooling save gas! I usually fish the NF Alsea as well but have only made it over there twice this year due to the low water. Oh well. See ya later!
Zobe - Thanks for toning it down a bit. We all get a little excited sometimes. I just bite my lip and resist typing anything http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif. You think he's full of it and I think he's telling the truth. Ah, it's not the end of the world.

"OSU FISHING CARPOOL"
Between losing gear and gas money, I may have to break down and get a job during the school year. Although that may take away from all the time I ain't studying. Car pooling would certainly be a cash saver seeing as all my buddies would rather sit around and talk about the fish they arent catchin. I certainly wouldnt mind meeting some other folks from OSU who don't mind missing an occasional class or two to go fishin

I gotta say guys that this type of immature snipping, that is common on other fishing websites, has gone by the wayside here among our great BB membership. I hope we don't see anymore of this kind of posting. Thanks guys, and keep up the good fishing report posts and other fun things. - RT
