Can Someone tell me what the easiest way to get this course completed. Any other licenses or certificates needed to stay legal? I don't want to be hasseled by the police or even have to worry about being stopped and checked. Thanks

A special thanks to you Phishon.
My wife and I received our cards in the mail the other day. We took the online test on New Years eve (boy, don't we know how to party) and made it in prior to the dead line. Thanks to your posting a general reminder.

Sorry fish hunter You could have taken the test on line but it had to be done before the end of 2000. Now you will have to spend some time in a classroom learning about buoys and navigational tools for the rivers and oceans right along with my husband who also didn't get it done before the end of the year. I hope they teach people how to launch and load their boats.

You can still get your Boater Education Card online. It costs $15 to take the test, whether you pass it or not. If you pass it and want to get your card it is another $10. You can do the study questions, take practice tests, etc before you take the test. If you spend some time there should be no reason you shouldn't pass. I haven't gotten my card yet, but plan to soon.
I rather do it online, at my own pace, rather than having to go to some class.

Fishchaser is right, it had to be completed before the end of 2000. I took my test on
Dec. 31st, and got my card last week. It is
not a huge issue yet, based on your age. I
am 48, and have until 2006 to get my card.
The younger you are the earlier you need the
Certification Card. I don't remember the
exact dates, but the Boat Oregon web site
should give you all the info needed.

Drachir,
It appears I did not read the info on the website that closely. Thanks for your reply. I have until 2005, but I still want to take care of it. It appears that there are a couple of other internet options. You can take a test at www.boatus.com (http://www.boatus.com) (no charge) and www.boatsafe.com (http://www.boatsafe.com) (charge).
Thanks, Rich

I took my test through boatus I didn't pay a thing. Later on when the marine board says you must have this I will be holding a safe boating card approved by NASBLA and all I will have to pay is $10.00 to the marine board.
