Not sure what info you are looking for, But I can tell you Pilar is pulling pots on the Tillamook bay as I write this, and I will be doing the final sweep on Sunday for any he missed. Come Sunday evening the Tillamook bay floor will be void of crab. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bait of Eggs, Chinook Hunter. Crab was good at T Bay. We did most of the damage at night at the **** ******* hole. I flew over to it on the GPS and the blue boat avoided the sand bars once again.
There were no others on the bay Fri Night. Even this morning no boats working my favorite spot save one sled. 5 crabbers total and limits for all. Turkey legs, Halibut trim, Atlantic Salmon heads, Freezer burned bottom fish carcasses and Marina store bait all worked well.
We tried to do other stuff too but met with some misadventure. I did manage to visit the world headquarters of Ifish and make a crab delivery. Later on the way to the Kilchis river park the trailer came unhitched and well, I'll let 4U2Fish tell the story. There were a dozen rigs at the 'secret spot'. Obviously something going on there.
Now I have to give away some crab to friends and pick a bunch for us to eat.

Pilar - glad you drilled them, I hope you left a few for me. Gonna be on the bay about daylight.
I gotta hear who forgot to latch the trailer to the hitch. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif Or was it a mechanical failure?

Anybody else go to the Tillamook Rodeo today? It was one rough ride on the water. I met Mr. Fisherman (from ifish) and his 7 year old son at 5:30AM, we made our way to Garibaldi for what was planned to be a crabbing/fishing excursion. When I saw white caps in the harbor I got concerned. I was about 200 yards out of the harbor when the front open bow on my boat was level full of water. The waves were breaking over the bow faster than the drain holes would let it out. I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO ROUGH IN THE BAY. I had to turn around and out of the waves to give the bow a chance to drain. (Boat doesnt handle well with nose in the water http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif )
We managed to make it over to crab harbor to take a quick looksee. Then we went back to the dock and loaded up the boat. Drove over to Barview to watch the waves break over the south jetty. The waves were breaking over the top of the jetty the full length of the jetty.
Tucked our tails and headed home. A few boats were bobbing around and crabbing. We opted to call it a day and play it on the safe side. It wasnt going to calm down for at least a few hours and then we would have been on the back side of high tide with a big run off.

Myself being compass challenged and all, I will have to answer your question as follows. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The wind was blowing about parallel to the the road that turns off HWY 101 and runs down to the boat ramp. Maybe slightly more from the north (about 10 degrees). It was probably about 20 MPH. The 2 boats that launched in front of me also loaded in front of me leaving. My favorite was the 14 foot smoker craft that made it almost to the coast guard station and did a 180 on a dime. He had that I am getting the H*ll out of here look on his face.
When at barview, the 2 big rocks on top of the north jetty just beyond where you can park had water breaking over the top of them.
I cannot believe a few boats were braving this for a few sea spiders.
I also did not get those GPS coords you asked about. I took it just for that purpose, but never made it over to the secret spot where the mermaid sunbathes. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif Maybe next time.

C.H.,
Netarts hasn't been good since the commercial boats set up at the mouth and put the hurt to them tasty critters in December. It will take a while for them to come back. Check Bay Shore Marina http://home.pacifier.com/~bayshore/# to get a current report. I have heard good reports from T-bay and Nehalem, however with all the rain T-bay might blow out. If we get more than 2 to 3 inches in the week there could be enough fresh water to change the salinity of the bay driving the crabs out to the ocean http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif. There are five rivers feeding this bay and it can change fast.
Pilar,
You got that one right.
My boy was a little nervous when the second wave went over the bow and it looked like my "Jethrow" lunch cooler was going to float away. He was holding on to me pretty tight. I told him to let go because I would sink. That didn't go over very well but I eventually calmed him down. He seranaeded (sp) Roy and me on the way home.
If ya want to go next week give me a call or drop me a line. I'm game. By the way, I know someone with lots of spider bait http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Up periscope.....
Mr. F.
By the way BOE,
Thank you very much for the cruise.I enjoyed your company and look forward to another adventure soon. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Pilar,
There was a low pressure system south of us and the wind was generaly from the south.
Worst I've ever seen the bay. Never thought it could be so ruff. Diddn't seem bad at all in the canyon heading home.
Hope this helps,
MF

Mr. F and B.O.E., Thanks guys. It figures, most of the bad wind comes from the south (winter) or Northwest (summer). At least you didn't make the newspaper. That was due to the use of common sense.

Chinook,
You could have just checked the weather report as I did. There was a small craft advisory posted with wind at 25 knots and seas to 13ft. You probally had too much silver bullet at the motocross last night anyway. He,He,

B.O.E. Please disregard the other post. You are setting an example for the rest of us to follow. It must be totally ok to blow off the trip for weather. Or don't play in the salty stuff, your choice.
Sorry you missed the crabs. There will be many more next weekend. Mayhap I can give you the route to the **** ******* hole so you can hammer them on Friday at night like I like to do.
Hey Roy, one question. What was the wind direction and speed? I have never seen the bay too rough to fish and would like to recognize this nasty from a safe distance. Maybe save the trip for nothing, you know.

We get to go down and try for some of those little spiders on the 30th. We have quite a bit of stinky food for them. I have a freezer full and bait season will be here in a couple of months. I understand Netarts is out. I hope we get rain for the fishing aspect of things but I think I just had the window closed on us for crabbing if it rains like the weather people say it is going to rain. lately I think their interpretation of rain is different than what I was taught in science class.

Hey Crabbers, something to consider.... If you call a report and the wind is from the south like that, T-Bay is going to be blown out bad because the those waves have a long ways to build (since you generally crab on the north end of the bay). Try driving north 10 minutes to Nehalem bay, where you crab more on the south end of the bay. The wind will still be there, but the waves shouldn't be nearly as bad.
