Talked to a buddy that spent the day on the Cowlitz looking for Sturgeon. He didn't find many Sturg but also said while he did mark "some" smelt the river wasn't full of them. Think I'll wait till next Saturday before heading down for the little buggers...It is still a might early.....

2 days ago I was at both Fishermans in OC and GI joes on McLoughlin looking for a new boat horn. GI Joes was 2 bucks cheaper on a smelt net. about 33.00 at joes.

I bought the one that matched what Duckworth put on the boat. That way all the holes lined up and installation was minimal.
$22.00
Could have been worse is what I always tell myself when I am force to do repairs. It seems to lesson the pain. I know the sheriff will catch me at the ramp soon for my new sticker.

Bob's Sporting goods has them for 29.00. Might be a good idea to call and verify availability though. Renting is a pain in the ass. Last year I had to wait 2 hours for one to be returned.
