---------
Member Paul sent me an e-mail in the middle of the Lars Larson KXL750 radio show yesterday, saying that Ore. State Sen. Ferroli was his guest. I jumped on the quick re-dial to finally get in line to ask about the Columbia springer allocation issue, but it was too late; he left before I got on to ask his postion. But I heard enough to know that this guy is up on the fish issues and I liked what I heard about some of his fishing issue proposals. He might be a good one to write to, quickly, about the Col. issue. I sent most of my letters to U.S. Congressmen from the NW. I will send out something right away. Hope you will too. ...
I am headed out the door, late, to the TV Chapter of NW Steelheaders meeting in Hillsboro. Will someone check Jen's list of politico contacts linked to Ifish mainpage for Ferroli's address. Thanks. - RT ...

WHOAAAAAAA RT
I went through grade school and High school with State Sen.Ted Ferrolli. He WAS a friend. If his father could see him now he would claim he didn't know him.
Ted Ferrolli is NO Friend of Fish or Fishermen.
He is the PR Guy for Malhuer Timber Producers.
He is Heavily backed by the Oregon Cattlemens Association.
Ted F. is the spearhead trying to deny you your river acces rights.I have been in a running battle with this guy since his election. To deny river access rights to the public was one of the biggest planks in his election platform.Everywhere he campaigned he assured folks that he would go to Salem and defend their "Property Rights".
BTW
IF you read the articles of incorporation acepted by congress when Oregon was granted Statehood you will wonder why you are paying Deschutes Boater Pass Fees.
"All navigable waterways in the state will be free of all taxes, tarriffs and Fees."Congress insisted this be added to the articles or Oregon would not gain Statehood.
Ted F. has used his office to forward bills that would restrict your right to use any waters in the state that flowed through private property.
Ted F. uses his office to kill good environmental & fish protection measures.
Ted F. is NO friend of Fish or Fishermen.
I follow his Senate going's on with great interest.
Sorry RT.
Besides the Springer allocation issue has nothing to do with the States. The States have no standing with NMFS in determining the Allocation. They only have a Lawsuit naming NMFS as the defendant. You better contact the White House because that is where the decision will be made.Ah...Has been made.............

edit: I agree with SS. The decision has been made and unfortunately there is really nothing we can do. **** poor attitude, I know, but working for a local government, that is reality. No one in Washington is listening, nor do they care. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for the info sss. I wasn't aware of Ferrolli's agends at all. I was impressed by his knowledge about fishing issues during the short time I listened to his radio interview. After reading your's and Waterdog's posts I won't waste any time writing to this guy. - RT

Oh no, you should definitely write to him, just change your message!! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The guy really irritated me when I was listening to Lars. As did Lars. All Larson and Ferrioli wanted to talk about was ODFW clubbing salmon, when this issue was explained 8,000 times by ODFW and put to rest once and for all. It's been to court, they did nothing wrong, they were following Federal mandate. IMO Ferrioli is just a sh#t-stirrer who likes to hear himself talk. This was the first, and hopefully last, time I heard him speak. Unfortunately, it sounds like he has way too much pull around Salem, and a rack full of axes to grind. Nice leadership Ted.

In a face-to-face conversation during the last Legislative session, Ferrioli told me point blank that he disagreed with the original Federal enabling language (granting Oregon statehood, and referred to in the post above) granting public right to and usage of navigable waters.
I find it incomprehensible that the good citizens of the Hood River area, an area so dependant on river recreation, would re-elect this bum.
