I want to go fish the Clackamas at Eagle creek this weekend but I've never fished there before. I am looking at a map right now and was wondering which side of the Clackamas I need to be on to access the river. There appears to be roads on both sides of the Clackamas that go down towards the river. A little help/directions on how to get down to the river would be much appreciated. I take any pointers you guys want to throw out as well.

Thanks
JK

R2,
You access the mouth of eagle creek at Bonnie Lure SP. Here's how to get there, as you're heading east on 224 toward Estacater, right after the sign for Eagle creek there is a road called Dowty rd. Turn Right on Dowty Rd. Shortly a rd will intersect from the right, turn on that rd. Follow this rd until you cross eagle creek. The parking area is on the right side of the Rd. From there you can follow the trails that parallel the creek to the mouth. I'm sure you'll have plenty of company.

Hey Artwo,
I usually drift jigs under a bobber,1/8oz. in pink/white or purple/pink work good.I'm no expert but I do hook my share of fish. If you go on the weekend you need to be there first light or later in day after the crowds have left,I hooked one last Sunday at 3:00pm and there was almost nobody there.

Hey thanks guys for the directions and the advise. Been wanting to do some jig fishing again, looks like a good chance to do some. I'll let you know if I do any good. May end up on the Sandy though if the crowds are to big. Good fishing this weekend to ya.

Thanks
JK
