I was wondering how you guys/girls think this years spring chinook season will be since the fall chinook season sucked and the steelhead season was supposed to be good but so far it hasnt been all that great. Do you think the spring chinook season will be bad too?

Fishon:
I think that the run should be fairly close to the ODFW prediction. The fall chinook run was about what was predicted on the columbia, the Coho run pretty much hit expectations. The steelhead run on the clack seems to be decent (at least compared to recent years). The dissapointment is on the coast, where the 96 floods took care of the chinook run. I think the steelhead #'s have been decent, just no hookups. Steelhead have been recycled like crazy on the Nestucca. So I think the fish are going to be there this spring, but I just hope the river conditions are going to be there.

Just to get yer heart racing a little, it's been confirmed that the first spring chinook was taken at Meldrum Bar last Friday.

Here's to a great springer season!

It should be good. I look to have to wash the blood out of my fish box and off of every where else. Oh how I like to beat them springers in the head, not much else feels that good!
