Hey GLC, another fish caught on the Clack. Lot's of reports of some degree of success over there this season; unlike most other rivers. In the 80's the Carver up to just below Feldheimer's (above Bonny Lure) was my January stompin grounds in my sled. Earlier in the run when Eagle Creek was low, I would run above it on the far south side then backtroll Hot N Tot and shrimp, Warts, or Hot Shots (depending on Clack flow and color) and score almost everytime just below the creek and out of the hardest current of the Clack. But after the winter runs died off I quite fishing up there regularly. In fact, I haven't run my sled up in that area since the big changes by the Feb. '96 floods. I only sled from the mouth up to about Carver for springers, and some summer runs, from mid-April to late June, nowdays. The river is only 1.5' (11.5 on the guage) right now or I'd think about trying to re-learn it with fish up there again. That's encouraging to know. Thanks. - RT

Yeah...the water's sure been low this season. I've done a couple of fish too, but I'm too chicken to run the river in the sled, for fear of busting it. Good thing I have a driftboat. Haven't been there for a week or two, cause the woman's got me re-modelin' the kitchen. It's stil my fav. river tho, since it's about 5-10 minutes from the house!!
