I appreciate your Angler Chapel, so i will share my latest need. My mom is 89 and suffering from alzhiemers (sp?). My dad passed away a year and a half ago and they co-existed by leaning on each other heavily. Dad couldn't get around, but mom was mobile, but couldn't remember what she was going to get for dad. Made for some humorous situations sometimes. Since dad passed, mom has had to go into a 'helping home', since she has to be watched 24 hrs a day. She fell and cracked her hip bone almost all the way through and had to have a pin put in it yesterday. She doesn't know what happened or why because she can't remember anything more than 15 minutes. She is also somewhat happy because she doesn't worry about anything because she can't remember what to worry about. Her 'helping' facility has rejected her because now she needs more help, so we are looking for another. She was up walking all over the halls at the hospital today, though.
I would appreciate your prayers for finding the right helping facility for her, one that best suits her needs. Thanks in advance. I will let you know when your prayers have been answered. Blessings to you in Christ.

I'm not familiar with nursing facilities in your area, but when I was working medical transportation many years ago, the Benedictine Nursing Home in Mount Angel struck me as one of the best south of the Portland area.

Oh, D tangle... What you are going through with your Mother is so hard. I will pray for you and for her.
Here I am worrying about a chicken....
Anyhow, it's so tough to watch the ones you love, let alone your own Mother go through something like this. My heart is with you.

I know I already thanked you in advance...but thanks again. I know I can be a pushy person sometimes and talk (type) too much and am too opinionated, but that is me. I don't reach out often, but offered you this chance to be a blessing and you have overdone yourselves and heaped coals upon my head with your love, guys. I am unworthy, but accept your prayers and blessings for my mom for her good. Thanks.

My Wife's best friend worked there (in Mt. Angel) for quite a while before taking a position at OHSU. I was very impressed with the staff when we would visit there. All of the workers were so compassionate, and always seemed to have a personal bond with those that they were caring for. My great-grandmother, who passed away a few years ago, was suffering from alzheimers for the last part of her life. It can be very challenging at times, especially when you know what a brilliant and bright spirit she was before the illness. My prayers go out to you and your mother.
