Put in the water at 8:00am ...Pengra Boat ramp was the spot..Shot up-stream in a hurry on a mission for the Dam...22 minutes later I was there and ready to start swinging a fly...

Started off by working a large flat spot in a 400 yard drift..Casting just down stream and swinging back across..No hits for the first 45 min. and then when I was right across from the boat ramp that is below the Dam I had a strike...:smash: Boonedoggin....It was a solid fish on my 9ft 5 wt.. I got him on the reel quickly and let the rod do the work..I sat down and slowly motored to shore to fight and land the fish..

SUCCESS !!!! A nice hatchery steelhead...

I continued to fish the same water a few more times but that was all...I worked allot of water on the way back downstream and managed to have another take but no hookup that time..Did get a nice fat Cutthroat and two Pike Minnows..

It was a great day spent on one of my favorite streaches of water...The water temp held steady all day at 55.8 degrees..It was a pefect Steelhead fishing day, overcast and drizzly rain all day...I was in heaven...

Here are some pics of the day...

Very nice Mokai, you have the best of both worlds. Small boat and power to go upstream, more power to you. Very nice pictures and post, Steelhead in the morning, beats the heck out of doing laundry on a rainy day. Don't ask me how I know. Thanks for the Post.:smash:
