I stripped the leveler gear out of my Penn 320gti when I had one of the big boys on. After buying the .80 part and taking a hour or two putting it back together, (kid knocked the reel side over and spilled all the gears out) he was just helping.

I have used the reel since I repaired it but it seems to not be right, everthing works well but it seems not the same. Does a real need timing? I do not own a timing light for a reel.

Who was the great Reel Wizzard you all love. Help me OB1, help me...

Ollie Damon in Portland will fix your reel. The shop is the west coast service center for probably every manufacturer of fishing reels.

Thank you, thank you

Jet: Ollie's not a big company. Although the company name is still used, it is owned by a guy who just tries his best to provide a wide area of service to stay open.

He also employes several wheelchair bound guys to service the products.

I have always had good service at what I consider a fair price.

Ollie Damon is small time and local. Its actually owned by a fella who is a fishin partner and good friend of mine. Since we were young bucks he had always had the dream of owning a little sporting goods shop, but economics wouldn't allow for it. Well, after about 20 very successful years in managment of a major NW grocery chain, he gave up the 3 piece suit and went back to his simple entreprenuerial dream.... a little tackle shop. I'm proud of ya, Rich!!!

I've been taking my reels to Ollie's for years now. They are great guys to shoot the bull with. They always took care of whatever I brought in for them to fix.

I would also have to recommend Ollie Damons. Sorry Jet, but I had to laugh when you referred to them as a big company. Their shop is very small and down to earth. My office is 1 block away from their shop and I walk down their quite often and just shoot the BS with Doug and Rich. Great guys and, as mentioned above most of their work is done by a couple guys in wheelchairs. I have fished with Rich (The owner one time and you couldn't find a nicer guy to talk to).
I would not take my business anywhere else if I needed a reel repaired, they do excellent work at a good price and they really stand behind their product.
