FEAR NO FISH!

I own a King boat trailer. It is a KB2800 model. I trailer a 20 ft. Harbercraft landing craft. Total weight of boat, give or take 2400 pounds. The trailer uses that new fangled single torsion bar suspension. Since 1998, I have gone thru 6 spindle, hub and bearing kits. I keep up with greasings and repack trailer bearings twice a year. Does anybody else out there have these kinds of problems. I am thinking of going to a 5200 pound axle with springs. Any other ideas? I would hate to go to a tandem axle as I have to muscle the boat around a lot to get into garage.

I have a King tandem. It must have been
built on a Friday. The first flat I had,
I found out they had the WRONG lug bolts
on both rear tires! They all started
spinning. Les Schwab fixed them for me
and South River Marine billed the vendor.
Also watch the sharp screws backing out
of the trailer pads. Ripped up the bottom
of my boat before I found them. Never again.
Was in a hurry and did not want to wait on
a Baker or something else. Never again.
PS: Are you going to take me and my boss
Walleye fishing this spring?
Rick

Well I was mistaken on the weight of my boat. It is hard on a 2800 pound trailer when you have 3000 pounds loaded on it. Today I had the satisfaction of visiting Tricker Trailers in Lewiston, Idaho. Talk about a high class operation. These trailers are built for armegeddon. I was so impressed that I bought one. 5200 lb axle, uhmw bunks and guides, heavy duty positioning rollers on the ends. I am ready to start traipsing all over the NW again. www.trickertrailers.com (http://www.trickertrailers.com)

FNF,
I have the Tricker T2-2052 under my 20 Weldcraft and it is one of the nicest towing trailers I have pulled. I have pulled Bakers and custom Drag Race trailers all over and this one is may favorite for tracking and stability on the road at freeway speeds.

Good for you Fear!
I did the samething when I bought my Weldcraftlast year it came with a Caulkins (piece of $$$hit good thing they went out of business). I pulled my boat the Clarkston with the Caulkins and pulled it home with the Tricker, what a difference!
I am sure you and I both can say, spend the extra .50 and get a lifetime trailer.

Outlaw,
I had called 7 different dealers and everyone of them told me that I shouldn't be experiencing the problems that I am. Tricker trailer explained to me why I was. Not only that but Pete Cook (manager) took me to lunch! It isn't very often you meet great people like that. If anybody has trailer problems, call Pete!

I have a tricker under my 22 footer. Almost 5600lbs combined weight and no sway at 70mph. Don't even know it's back there as far as handling. I had one brake assembly go bad (chronic overheating on one hub). A month out of warranty Pete sent me a new assembly for free. Great trailers... Joe
