Ok where do the die hards go after Oct. 31. Billy? Simtustus? Prineville? I have spent very little time on these. LBC 2 times, Simtustus 1 time and Prineville about 10 minutes. My son was 3 then and had a knot at the end of his mickey pole the size of a softball before we hit the water. Anyway would like to stay busy fishing through the winter with out running to the valley chasing steelhead. Any ideas would be great.
Thankx

North and South Twin along with Big Cultus and I believe Big Lava are open all year........snow not withstanding. I have done very well at South Twin fishing in the shadows with bait either on the bottom or hanging from a bobber. Fishonbend might have some secret spots - shot him a pm.

I usually fish Crescent Lake after October and then I fish Lake Billy Chinook after Christmas. Then back to Crescent Lake in March. I love fishing in the winter. There is only a few boats on the water and it is the best time of year to fish. Most of the large trout are close to the surface.
Chikahominy will be good until it freezes over.

I second Jimmy's response. Some of my best and favorite days are on Billy Chinook from Christmas up till May 1st. Had a streak 2 years ago of 10 trips in a row with an 8lber or better. Love those bulls. Macks at Crescent can be good but the water levels made it challenging last winter and the resort upped the launch from $5 (free with lunch) to $10.

Lake Simtustus and Big Lava Lake will close on Halloween along with the streams. Most remain open all year. Go get 'em! :smash:

Hit the Deschutes downriver from Bend during these times:

The river drops greatly then.
