Willy report salem 10/18/06

Got some real nice fish today on crankbaits. Lippless and divers working well. The bite did not get good till about 10.00 am.

I got a 3.9,3.2, and a 2.14 for big fish. I also got a lot of 2 pound fish.

I did get 10 smaller fish fishing around the bridge on spider grubs and senkos dshotted. I had to wait till 8:30 for the fog to lift till I could run.

I also hit something and broke the skeg on my motor :sick: . It still seemed to run just fine but I am going to need a whole bottom end if I want to make it right.

It was cold and the water was 54 degrees.

Really nice looking Fish there Clayton. That sucks about the skeg. I guess I will really have to watch it out there on Saturday. Good luck with the crabbing this weekend. I will try and keep your fishing spots nice and warm for you while you are gone.:D

Are you using a shad pattern crankbait or more of a crawdad pattern? Im just curious because last fall I was catching them on crawdad pattern and this year they dont seem to want to bite those, but i have been catching them on shad pattern baits.

I have been using both but the chrome and blue seems to be out producing the craw color right now.
