Howdy!

I'm thinking about taking my 6yr old daughter out for a day of fishing and Hagg is near our home. I have fished there a few times but not even close to enough to know what's going on in that lake. Couple that with the fact that I know very little about warwater fish and, well, I guess that's why I'm asking.

I have never fished for panfish past, hmmm, probably early August. Is it worth trying right now with a 6yr old or are the fish tough to get? I went out with her once last year to that lake, I think it was spring, and we were able to find schools of bluegills. She had a blast droppin a worm/split shot rig over the side with her scooby pole and reeling in fish after fish.

What should I expect this time of year? Thanks for any help

Your best bet would be to call the little shop on the old hwy before you get to Hagg...I have a feeling that everything is pretty deep. Still, a worm with shot, in one of the channels should work well for trout.

The or, Bass and Panfish will be fishing for Perch tomorrow . We should hadve about 15 boats there fishing close together . Look me up i will be in a 20 foot white and black Ranger boat . We will find room for you and your daughter . You can fish the same way you were last time . Worms are allways good for panfish . We will probabily in the 5- mile an hour zone . It depends on the depth sounder and where the Perch are ?
Be sure and say hello .

The pirch fishing should be good, we stopped by the store that is by the lake and they just put 800 broots in hagg.

The Or. Bass and panfish Club fished Saturday morning . We all caught a few perch and trout . Some boats caught more than others . I think that the big die off last spring had a major effect . All had a good day .
