View Full Version : Grandmother died this morning
I am in Salem and we were going to visit her this morning. Before we left she died. We were expecting this, she was 97, but it's still a shock. :depressed:

Lee, your family will be in my prayers.
Even though you expect something, when it happens, it's... just not right, somehow. :depressed:
How can you expect to go through grief?
You can prepare, I suppose, but it's always a terrible thing to experience.
I am so sorry, Lee.
Jen
I pray for comfort for all of you! What a blessings to live to be 97, I'm not even half that age but am grateful for the people that made the world the way it is today and your grandmother was part of that.
Blessings, Keith

Sorry about your loss.
The Apostle Paul has some positive comments about our going on to be with the Lord. He writes:
"Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, and not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it."
Your grandmother, at age 97, was undoubtedly ready to make the transition from this life to the next. Someone has described it as "a change of address." She is very much "alive" in our Lord's presence without the constraints we have in this earthly body.
Check out I Corinthians 2:9 also: It's a great comform for all of us.
