View Full Version : How often does this happen?

It happened to Knotinleader and I at clear lake a lot but it happens to me a lot at other places also. Here is the senario!

You pick up and zip across the lake to a spot, cut the engine, motor up to the back within casting distance, make a couple casts and wham, you hook into a fish, you think you are on to em, but try as you may and you go down 200 yards of bank with nothing. So you pick up and go to another spot and the same thing happens, over and over throughout the day. Also it can happen by changing lures or colors, you change your lure and you make a couple casts and you get bit and you think you have come up with something they want only to go another 30 minutes or more with nothing.

Surely it`s not just us?

I wonder if the others are just spooked after you catch the first one DJD

I was starting to wonder if the wave action from the boat was stirring the shad up and triggering a fish to feed. It seemed to happen to often to be a fluke.

I have seen the waves stir up some nice small mouth bass on the Coumlia River before.

Have you been hiding in my boat? Your experiences are much like my own for sure. That's what makes it fun. It's all good. I have also fished all day in different places with different lures and had no hook ups.
