My youngest daughter Bethany (almost 21) is moving to Colorado. She is driving with a friend and leaving tomorrow and I am requesting prayer for her safety in her trip.
I have misgivings about here going there but she needs to leave the nest sometime :depressed:
She was talked into moving there by her manipulative friend and I fear that once she gets there she will not be happy.
For the first time in our marriage my wife and I will be alone and I have mixed feelings about it.

I'll pray Stew. I know the feeling. Watching my youngest daughter drive off to college all by herself was the hardest thing!

I'll pray also. Keep your porch light on, children are often like the steelhead, they go away and come back several times.

Hi...Saw this post and had to reply.

Bethany is in our prayers today. I know that this is often more harder on the parents than it is the child... :depressed: so I pray for Gods peace and a hedge of Angel surrounding her and your family.
 By the way, my wife is originally from Colorado and I know there are many Angels residing there, and she told me to tell you that.

Stew, our family will pray for peace and comfort for you and your wife and for a safe trip for your daughter. Don't worry brother, they don't stay gone forever and this could be a good time for you and your wife to become fishing partners!

Blessings, Keith

Will do Shane. Not looking forward to that day to come in my family either but it is only natural to seek independence. Will pray for strength for your daughter and of course good judgement in all that she does.

May God Bless you and your family Stew...I pray that God will envelope you in a sense of peace, and watch over your beautiful child in her inevitable, but worrisome (at least from the parents perspective) time of transition.
May God give you and your family the Grace and Wisdom to lead you forward--
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen!

Lord, be with Bethany as she travels to Colorado. Guide her. Keep her in your arms. Provide her with the tremendous experience of seeing your glory in the Rocky Mountains. Use this as a time of enrichment and teaching. Healing and growing. May she be a beacon of your great light as she enters each city she sees. Godspeed! In the holy and precious name of Jesus.

--Amen

As everybody but Dad knew she would  !!
Prayers are the safety net my friend, our time is written in the book of life. It's comforting in a way, but disconcering in another...
May God continue to bless you and your family--
Charlie.

After going thru this several times with my step children I learned that kids are much more resiliant than us and see hard-ship in a completely different light than we do as parents. I spent many sleepless nights thinking, it did me no good whatsoever. I am a firm believer in "guardian angels" after these expieriences. Hope this helps in some small way. My advice, try to get some sleep and give her a cell-phone and tell her you will pay for it, the only catch is you can call if you are worried! :depressed:

This has really gone full circle  My wife and I will be leaving 7/23 to go to Colorado to bring our daughter back. She couldn't make a go of it on her own and her manipulative friend ended up doing exactly what we thought she would.
I'm glad she's coming home...I missed my little girl :hearton:

Our empty nest lasted less than 30 days. Our youngest son almost 21, has been going to PSU since then. Like I told my wife, you just got to enjoy it while you can.
