Hello Fellow iFishers!

I'll be visiting Iraq again from March 18th - March 29th. The purpose of my visit is to encourage the local believers and to identify/establish a business opportunity for them as well.

There's a Jewish proverb that goes like this:

"If you give a man a fish, he'll eat for one day, but if you teach a man how to fish, he'll eat for the rest of his life."

Here in North America, every dollar that's given to missions, only $0.02 (two cents) goes to mission efforts in the Middle East (one of the most difficult places).

While visiting Iraq last November, I noticed that many Iraqis are unemployed. Instead of giving them money, I had a vision to establish a business in Baghdad so they could be self sufficient.

Please pray that His kingdom will be established and His Will be done in Iraq. Pray Psalm 119:105 for me as well. Thank you!

Salam aleicoum!

Alan

I'll be leaving in a few days and I think the security will be tighter after today's bombing in Spain. Please continue to pray for the Middle East. Thank you!

Iraq is home to one of the oldest Christian churches, the Chaldean church. During Sadaam Hussein's reign, they have been greatly reduced, but they remain vibrant, despite the apostasy of some to the Ba'athist regime like Tariq Aziz, the foreign minister. Many fled to the U.S. I've met a few. It's a difficult place to be a Christian. I wish you well on your trip, and I pray for your success.

Hello All:

Thanks for your prayers. While in Baghdad, I couldn't help but to stop and take this picture. These giant carps were caught in the Tigris River.

While in Baghdad, I met with 4 Iraqi pastors. There are now 9 evangelical churches. I also met a pastor in Mosul. I have so much to share. If you would like to hear more, please contact me. Again, thank you for your prayers for Iraq.
