Clear Lake trip

Knotinleader and I went to Clear Lake Calif. from the 30th to the fifth. He`s a great host, and if you ever get a chance to fish with him take him up on it.

We had a great time and stayed at Konocti Resort, prices are cheap this time of the year. It took us a bit to figure out what they wanted, but the chartruse and white spinnerbait won hands down. Not a fast and furious bite, but steady throughout the day. We caught fish on dropshot and jigs also. I caught my first deep water bass at about 30' on a dropshot. I caught about a 6# catfish on a dropshot rig also.

The highlight of the trip was experiencing a feeding frenzy on Wednesday afternoon with 3-6 # fish going nuts on shad off of a willow point. They were out of the water and we saw some do back flips. We sat off the point for about 2 1/2 hours and caught about 30 fish in the 3-5# class.

This fish went in the neiborhood of 5-6#`s. It weighed 5#`s 3 oz on Dougs scales, but it sure seemed bigger than that!

That fish Knotinleader is holding was the average size we caught! :yay:
