Was not trying to stir things up with that response, i should of guessed that they meant average weighed in. I had a great time there for my first time and will be back again this fall!

So let me re-phrase what I said earlier.
The average fish that is brought in to our resort is 4-6lbs. There is the occasional 3lb brought in for a pic. I'll continue to give you the daily stats of whats being brought in. I am just doing this for fun and hope that it helps any of you guys out. Lighten up!!

How many fish do you need to hook before you get to hook into a 4 or 5 lber. How many people are on the lake on an average day?Thats pretty good if you can go out and catch a 4 or 5lber.It must be crawling with bass that are willing to cooperate.I like it.The people that bring in the big Bass probably know the lake is it always the same people? I need to get up to that lake real quick.

For the most part a lot of the people who are bringing in the big bass know the lake. They also are out early in the morning or right before the sun sets. There are areas that are better for the bigger bass than others. The rock pile is where the big ones lay. The 8lb'er was caught by the pilings west of the resort. You want to avoid the liliy pads (according to the bass pro's) but carnine's ditch and some of the canals over by the dam seem to be hot too.
There are a few guys who have been out here only a few times and will bring in a 6 lb bass the first cast. I guess thats why we call it fishing- its all about luck!

I was once carring a stinger of rockfish, and someone came up to me when everyone else was catching nothing and said to me boy you were lucky today and my reply was if I only caught one it would be luck , I think it's a little bit more than luck.I'm not saying that once in a while a little luck can't happen.Wow a six pound bass on the first cast.Maybe they know what cover the bass are on all the time.I realy need to fish this lake real soon.I'm wasting alot of time? How long before you call it quits on Silver.

silver is my favorite lake in washington.. im getting to know it really well.. if you focus hitting spots on the island early morning you will get some good bass, dont be scared to fish them over and over again. it holds alot of fish. use bomber crankbaits in firetiger or bluegill and find a pattern. i was pulling 11-15 inch fish all weekend. i havent caught anything over 4 pounds yet but i know there are some monsters there. if everybody looks at the fall silver lake spots on the map he posted it is right on.. thanks again roger for all the good spots.

SLC: I know I speak for all of us when I say that we really appreciate an update of the catches. As you are no doubt starting to understand, it is extremely important that we get deadly accurate information, or no information at all. Blanket statements like "there have been several fish over eights pounds caught since July", can easily cause many of us to change major plans and could cause a huge dissapointment if it's just hearsay. I understand that your business depends on fisherman coming to the lake, but most of us have but precious few days off and it is very expensive for us to get up there and we want to make the absolute most of our opportunities. Don't want to scare you off- we are also a very determined group and for those of us that target big fish, we are willing to try even if there hasn't been alot of monsters caught- somebody has to be the first! Thanks!! Dave

When I was guiding on silver lake the resort would record every bass that CAME INTO THE RESORT. Over the years (10) it helped me see patterns. I would keep weather records when I was at Silver and I would match up fish and weather conditions. This kind of information helped me figure out how the fall of the year effects bass. That kind of information can help allot of people. I think it's great to post the size of bass they are seeing. It's great to see what lures that are catching all the big bass.
Silver Lake crew PLEASE do not stop updating us on what is going on at the lake. Also I would be cool to know how deep the bass were caught, It's just a thought. Any one that plans on fishing silver would be helped by knowing that kind of information. It would be a great starting point!
I can tell everyone what NOT to fish NOW. After spending more than an hour on the west pilings. Skip the pilings early and go hit the rocks (no brainer).
Just remember that the silver Lake crew is kinda new to this and posting things on places like this can and does draw flames! :bricks:So PLEASE take it a little easy on them, they are giving us some GREAT information!
Thanks SLC  :applause:  :nerd:

i have to agree the hottest spot is the island docks.. we didnt get any bites on the west pilings but we nailed them in six feet of water+ on bluegill cranks. they didnt stop biting till we lost our last crank in the rocks :depressed:

Hey Tnj, Thats where we fished most all weekend was by the docks around the island. We fished the pilings west first thing Sat morning, but didnt hook anything and didnt see anything for 3-4 boats. (Plus we didnt start fishing till around 9). Anyway by the docks is where we caught all our fish, the point at the end of the island on the right side going out was the best. Hey had to ask you something, was the crank you lost a bomber crank bait, with a blue color to it, with a lighter underneath? We picked up one in that area floating sat afternoon. Might of been yours. I fished it a bit, but was not cranking fast and didnt get any on it.

haha yeah that was probably one of ours we lost about six of them in the rocks.. to bad the water is so low we cant get his boat in those rocks.... it should have had a chartrouse middle blue back and a orange belly... man that thing is hot in silver.. i went out last night and bought a bunch more... thats the downfall to rip in the cranks you do loose more.. i always find lures when i go out. usually they are no good though.. but that one you found is hot.. take it easy man!

Ya im sure it was one of yours. Ill take very good care of it. I wonder if you seen a fire tiger colored crank bait floating by one of those docks. I broke off the lip when it hit a dock. Hey if you dont mind, where do you buy those type of colored crank baits you use. Last few times out the the few local sporting goods stores, they didnt have much selection in those colors. Thanks!
