Nice job everyone! You guys did great. Way to go, smiley! Roger: you guided pitchinboy to his personal best- just amazing- nice work! I would have given anything to be in the boat when he landed that nice fish- did he just loose it? Pitch: NICE JOB!! Does this mean that you will be the cocky, alter-ego: "Pitch" for a while? Were OK with that! I didn't know I could go until it was too late to get a license, otherwise I could have come out there and made you all look even better. he he. Instead, I went to an Oregon lake a proceeded to hook a fish between 7 and 8 pounds and basically forget to set the hook and watched as it jumped out of the water and shook the hook. I hooked and lost three big fish- I forget my brain yesterday! Dave

Clyde that five  (fingered glove) I got at silver is lurking near a shallow rock point for some other fishermen you get his full measure of joy from . I C&R all 5s :smash:. That one put up a good fight it was a true bucket mouth  and it was full of water. Thanks to pitch's :applause: help  it did not break me off. I probable should have kept it for a skin mount, maybe next time .

hey guys, well me and Roger had a great time on the water and i learned a few tricks of the trade, espically dock fishing and boat control/positioning...we caught about 26 fish between the both of us and knocked em' dead on. and no guys that fish you see of me holding isnt my biggest, it is 4oz shy of my record fish of 3lbs 14oz... i caught big momma on a crank and i told roger to get the net and it wasnt available in his words. he he... but roger performed a nice lip and got the fish in the boat!!! i think i really like the fall now!!!! and i stayed another day and got 7 and should of had 9 and my biggest was a little over 2lbs!!!

ps, lets do it again guys!!!

Had a great time guys. Sorry i didnt get up earily enough for the 6am meeting. Was up late the night before and the bed in the cabin was very comfy! Was nice meet the guys i did. We went back out fishing just before the weigh in but seen some nice fish that some caught. I watched Roger working the docks under the motel for a bit. He sure is quick flipping. Four of us fished out of my boat. Me, wife, brother and his wife. We did catch some fish, maybe 15 or so on Sat but all were small. Tried cranks, plastics. On sat most of the fish we caught were with a crawdad crank. I finially caught one sunday morning fast cranking like tnj told me. Was still small. Im pretty new to modern bass fishing so i guess we did ok. My wife caught the biggest crappie on a crawdad crank by one of the docks, must of been about a pound. Tasted yummy too. Ill work on my bass fishing and hopefully be better next year. Hopefully will get to take out one of you guys for a few pointers soon. The wife and i think we will go up there again soon. Stay in one of the hotel rooms and fish from the deck. Was nice meeting you all. My first trip to Silver and ill be back.
Thanks yall! And thanks to the guys at the resort for getting us into a different cabin after we changed out minds! The owner is a very nice guy!

On a side note,,,boy did the license fees go up for Washington. It used to cost me around 8 bucks for a two day license. It was 28.00 for a three day one. And now its around 84.00 for a non res for a year after fees...guess the state needs more money.

pitch it was nice meeting you! you definately have some skill.. if you want to catch a ride with us sometime that would be cool... its alot of fun on a bass boat lol like a whole new fishing experience... i think you are trying to head in the same direction we are with fishing ( becoming pro) so its always nice to share techniques...

cheeseburger it was nice meeting you as well. sorry the fast cranking didnt get you into more fish. its alot about the spot.. i know a couple holes on the island where fast cranking was nailing them all day. one was around the corner from 9 pound dock.

we pulled three out of nine pound dock after going back three different times douring the day.. i also had something wrap me up real quick on a 5 inch senko and break me off! im using 15 pound braided line as well! its kinda funny cause that dock is tiny! but its in the perfect spot to get tons of baitfish! right after i got broke off she made a big splash to let me know i ticked her off lol! we pulled 4 keepers off of t-dock this weekend! they are both very hot and the bass can swim back and forth in the canal between both docks! were taking another trip up there net month guys it would be nice to see the same people plus some next time...

The best time to fish silver lake this time of year is the last two weeks of Oct. If you stall and do not get to Silver till Nov it may be too late. BUT I have landed a bass (7 pounds 11oz) on Nov 11 a few years back but that was not a normal year. It is hard fishing that time of year when do you pull off the bass to slam 200 or 300 nice sized crappie. Fish bass early and late and then fish for crappie mid day and hope the docks on the main lake are not still loaded with big ol bass that you just passed up on  :smash:  :bigshock: :yeahthat:  :yay:

For about 12 years I would fish the lake on average 3 days a week in October. And I would spend a week at the lake on the new moon. That is how I have come up with my fall fishing spots and pattern. It just takes lots of time on the water and freezing your #$%@ off in the process. Many a day I would get down to my boat to find 1/2 inch of frost on the deck. Remember the Fog in mid to late October can drop like an anvil! so get to your spot just before first light and do not plan to move around much for an hour or three.
