Hills Creek Fall Fishing

Spent Thursday morning at Hills Creek,not a surprise. But still a wonderful morning none the less, hold over Trout and Land locked Chinook. The weather was just a little to nice along with a bright moon, still we managed some nice Trout and had a wonderful time on the water. Water temp is starting to cool down and the clarity is much better. 64 degrees in the main lake and 46 at the head, the fish seemed to be holding at the confluence of Coffee Pot Creek, long lining gold spoons and Jakes spinners(like a Superduper) the Salmon seemed to prefer the spoons(1/4 oz. Lil Cleo's) but the Rainbows and cutthroats liked the Jakes. Not much cloud cover in the afternoon, the fishing was the best in the early am, and started to pick up again in the late afternoon in the shadows along the west wall. Tried the down rigger towards the late afternoon but still no takers - I know the big ones are there, just have to be patient. Here are a few pictures, one of a local Ifisher. tight lines to all.

I believe being here is the best possible medicine in the world....well maybe catching the fish is a bit better :yay:

Holy gashmoly what beautiful pictures Chuck. Looks like an awesome day and some very nice fish. Hills creek, that's your idea of a creek, things down south just aren't right! I love the post, thank you much for sharing, I noticed you have a new feathered friend, very cool!
