I am finallly going to go and target the big browns this weekend. This is something I have wanted to do for about 7 years, but living in the valley couldn't find the time. My better half and I are going up Friday morning and staying in a cabin until Monday. I've got the usuals. Boat, Trolling motor, Rapalas, downriggers ect.. We will be fishing close to shore in the boat before daylight. And again in the evening until dark. We are planning on flatlining Rapalas about 100 ft back very slowly. As I haven't fish the big boys before maybe some of you veterans wouldn't mind maybe giving some helpful hints. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be taking my camara in hopes of capturing some hogs on film. Will report back on Monday.

Thanks
MM

Good luck...

I wont be of much help as I have only fished there a couple times..Though what you stated should work..

Try adjusting your speed if trolling slow is not productive..

I know at Wikiup 2.5 to 3.5 MPH is the ideal speed there for monster Browns so you might give that a try..

Bring your long johns. It is freezing right now. Dont forget your buzzbombs. They can be deadly right now. Larger flatfish in frog has produced a few dandies for me also. Good Luck

Be sure to troll the area around the lodge boat moorage just before dark... making some long "circle 8" loops in the shoal area.

Best of luck and have a great time!

use the broke back rapalas and slap them on your down riggers during the day! when the fish move to deep water!
