deep water can be really tough! if you have a fish finder it can be great. i know of a 8-10 foot spot in silver with a planted log  :yay: yeah i know thats not really deep at all... we have alot of deep water lakes over here in king county. im not sure about over there in cowlitz county though..

When I talk with people about structure we are sometimes not on the same page. Some think of structure as cover. Structure is the contour of the lake. One example of a good piece of structure is a sunken island or a hump. Or a point that leads out to a creek channel. That is all considered structure. Now if you add some stump rows at the end of that point at where it intetrsects with the creek channel, that is called cover. Structure is very important to fish because they use these contour lines as freeways to travel. They wiil most likely stop at the creek channel and the stumps will attract them even more to it. This is referred to as the spot on the spot. Even with a lake that has no good structure even a small depth change or a small hump will be enough to draw fish. Add some good cover and you have a fish magnet. I love fishing deep structure. Hope you find some nice lakes out there. Some of the lakes that I know of Like Hagg lake does not have good cover, except at high pool in the spring but it does have some good stucture that does hold fish. The Columbia and the Willy has good stucture and cover. Get a River Atlas and check it out. God Bless you and Tight Lines.
