After 5.5 years on the job, I have given notice at my company in favor of a job offer I received from a company in a completely different industry, and part of the new job entails responsibilities that I've never done before (new boss knows this, saying he'll teach me). Its still scary stuff though, big step up professionally, but its the big unknown on how this job will impact my career path long term....who knows.

I've been praying that I'm making the right decision in life, and I guess time will tell.

I will pray for you! I too have given notice and am moving on to something different. I will be relocating back to my home town of Astoria from Pendleton. I believe my praying has helped me in my decision as it will with you.

Man, That's at least 4 ifisher's that I know who has switched to a new job in recent days. Plague like almost.

Jeff, best wishes on the new adventure in providership.

Very large cawhonous, to start over again, and in a new field.....Cheers to you Texan. I did the same thing 25 years ago, and never regretted it. Hold on tight and go with the flow on the learning curve. I just retired at 56 an I dare say if I would have stayed where I was at, I would still be working for the rather large corp. I must admit my old supervisor whom is still working at the same Corp. gets an e-mail once a month from me with a very nice picture of me and my latest fish...I will probably pay for my photo-sarcasm down the road but it is sweet right now. Trout....I'm still doing the same type of work fundamentally, just in a completely new industry. That said, there's part of the job I've never done before, so it will certainly be a learning experience (hopefully a good experience).

Thanks for the well wishes all.

Good luck, CT!

I made a company change in April when Home Depot bought out the company that I had grown with for 10 years.

I now look back at the guys still selling for them and am extremely happy with my decision!

I am sure that everything will be awesome!
