Fished the Newberg area yesterday. The fishing was decent caught a lot of fish but nothing too big.

I got a lot of small LMB in the morning on a lipples Yozuri as well as one of these. Did not weight it but it was about 5 pounds.

At 1:00 pm I was fishing near the mouth of the Yamhill and a good run of salmon came through. They were jumping every where.I let it go seeings how I dont have a salmon punch card. I watched the fish chase the crank down and hit it right in front of me.

I got a lot of smallies on the same lure and throwing plastics off a ledge. Nothing too big on the bass side.

All fish released

2.9 smallie

1.8 LMB most of the LMB were 1 pounders or less but they were aggressive first thing in the morning.

Weather was too nice I would prefer this high pressure goes away so the bigger fish would bite better.

Very nice fish. Wish i had been with you...I have been fishing a private hole in the Sandy river a few times in the past week and have not been able to hook a salmon. Seem some roll but no biters. Tried eggs, yarn, corkies, spinners,,,guess i should of threw a few crankbaits. I have heard they will sometimes get them to bite. Nice fish!!

Thanks for the report Clayton. So how did you like that area? Sorry to hear you didn't find any with size but it is good to know that I am not the only one. I would say stick to Salem. Not as many fish but better size.

I went out with dragon67 on Tuesday to the places you showed me and did pretty good. Once I have the pics ready I will post my report. I won't say how I did because I don't want to hijack your thread.

Nice job! Good color to that silver bullet too. Wish I woulda been with ya that day, we could have had a nice meal off that one. I agree with you on the weather.....it should get better here real quick, looks like it is cooling off. Catch ya later.
