The water's cooling off, the fish are porking up, strong and love to jump.
Weekend before last, I hit the Willey for a day of blast & cast and fished 3hrs (9am to noon) and had fish after fish on a 15ft shelf w/ tubes.

Had to make a run back to E.Oregon this last weekend, so loaded up the kids & dog at daylight and hit The Dalles area mid morning and fished an hour from the bank and BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM. Thought I'd do the same on the way back but got on the road late and was pushing dark by the time we hit the river. Did see a few walleye boats working the 3Mile to Boardman area......made notes.
I LOVE THE FALL!

Excuse the tailgate pic, I had to walk back to the truck for the camera.
Uploading pics now....no monsters....they just came one after the other w/ little effort. THEY ARE HUNGRY.

I hate how fish always look smaller when the depth of field is reversed when I take the pics.

Nice fish! They sure are ripping this time a year. How about pulling the plastic off your rod butt JK .

Clayton, the plastic comes off when it falls off. Just keeps the cork clean a little longer.....

Heck, everyone ALWAYS gives me a hard time about that. Now I see they have colored heatshrink cork sleaves you can put on...what's the differance? These were FREE.

I gotta laugh at myself too...I does look a little tacky now that I really look at the pic...but I don't mind.

I have an old Fenwick Steelhead rod that I bought some 20yrs ago...It was a pretty good rod back in it's day...anyway it has EVA foam instead of cork....I WISH it were cork. It is so caked with fish slim and roe juice it's as hard as cork. I refuse to clean it though...rinsing off all that fish mojo would be bad karma!

I'd say the big danged bridge in the background would be a pretty good clue as to location!

Besides if I took the wrapper off, how would I ever return it UN-USED if I don't like it?

I never take the plastic off unless I have to, but I admit I take the plastic off of lampshades. Why one and not the other, who knows?
