Moving from Eugene to Portland I'm going to miss the Mckenzie river trout. Are there any small (and clean) rivers such as the clack or Sandy, that are open for keeper trout?

Our Family enjoys Brietenbush river, good access, and not to crowded. a bit of a long drive unless you can make a full day or weekend trip.

I have been spoiled by the Mckenzie river. It is one of the cleanest, most pristine.

I'd like to find a place in the upper/middle sandy or clack that has a "legal" trout season as does the Mckenzie. No motors, few swimmers, very little polution.

That being said, I can't WAIT to get the kids out in a small boat on a lake or pond. They're only now old enough.

I would give Harriet Lake a try it is a nice little lake that has some big Browns and a bunch of stocker rainbows in it. I plan on fishing it at the end of the month and plan on having a good drift down the lake in a couple of canoes. Hope we have the same luck we had from the bank in May, We caught around 30 fish in the catch and release mode and took a few home for dinner. a great day of fishing.
Best of luck.
