Found out today that my husband was hired for a new job which will provide us much better benefits. It will be a bit of a decrease in income, but he will be working four 10 hour days, instead of six 12-14 hour days.
We are hoping that we will be able to get our own business started on his days off. The first few weeks, though, he will be working on his sawmill, maybe doing some bird hunting, playing with our son, and all the other things he hasn't had time to do for the last two and half years.
I am just so, so thankful for this. It is an answer to prayer.

that is way cool :applause: :yay: :applause:
the 4 10"s should be sweet. I know that when I went from building homes, 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, 12 hours a day, to a 5 day a week, 8 hour a day, my home life improved 100%. granted the $$ is alot less, but no amount of $$ can make up for the time that I now have with my family.
so congradulations to you and your husband :applause:

That is definately a praise, Melissa. Too much work makes us forget to look to God within His blessings. Thank you, Jesus.

That’s indeed good news…I’m very happy for your family. Children grow too fast as it is I’m glad you’ll have more time together as a family.

Thanks for the kind words. It will be nice to have more time together as a family. No matter what the "experts" keep trying to tell us, kids really do need quantity time with their families, not just quality time.
And, now I know who's going to watch the munchkin while I take that guided trip on TBay with some friends from college.

So true Melissa!
I was listening to "Focus on the Family" driving home from work the other day and Dr. Dobson sited some interesting stats. In a study of families there was a significant drop in child delinquency among those who shared their evening meal together each day. An even greater drop among families who spent time together each morning, supper time, and before bed.
We know that due to work schedules and other factors that this isn't always possible for all families all of the time. But the important point is: please spend as much time with your family as possible. We know from God's teaching that children are true blessings through Him...and such wonderful gifts for us to nurture and teach. There is a special one-on-one teaching and loving care that only parents can provide. :hearton:

God has always blessed with Ryan and I's work schedule. Ryan started working 4 10 hour days. It has given us the ablity for Ryan to do more with Daniel after school. We did have to go through times when Ryan worked some strange shifts but it worked out for the best now.
I love spending time with my son.
