Every day of our lives we cannot live with makeing some kind of choice, weather it be a car or pickup we choose to what do we want to wear for the day. We all make choices, sometimes wisely , sometimes not. We all have made some bad choices maby it is the friends we choose, maby a wrong career. or maby even the wrong spouse. When you look back over your life you may say, "if only i can make up for some of those bad choices". You can and that can be the choice of eternity, a choice that can make up for over a thousand bad ones on earth, the choice is yours This choice had been ready available for us all along and yet we wonder why some can choose eternal life and some reject it. Lets take a look at the cross a man named Jesus was being put to death by one of the most horrible ways known to man kind, crucifiction, but yet hung on crosses next to him were two different men with two different views on who Christ was. One chose to mock him, the other ask for mercy why? we will never know. all we know is one shouted insults at him saying "if you are the son of God get us both down from here". all he was doing was thinking of himself. and the other criminal stoped him saying, "you better fear God, your getting the same punishment as he, we are getting what we deserve for what we did. but this man had did nothing wrong, is this not amazing allthrough the trial Jesus deciples deserted him, nobody stuck up for him, only a convicted criminal dieing with him on a cross. and this convicted criminal made a choice a choice that covered up all of his bad choices he has made while on earth. His time was running out he ask our Lord "please remember me when you come in to your kindom" our Lord said "This day you will be with me in paradise". When one dying criminal prayed, Jesus loved him enough to save him. And when the other mocked, Jesus loved him enough to let him, The choice is yours!

I for one am glad that God is the one that chooses us in his own perfect time. I have had people tell me that they have called out to the Lord at one or more times in their lives and now claim to be a Christians. The fruits of the person will tell if this is true.
I know that I would have never been able to ask the Lord to save me on my own, it was His grace and will for me to call out to Him. When I look at it any other way it points out to me that I would be trying to steal Gods Glory. I was created for His pleasure, to worship and glorify Him and through the Holy Spirit dwelling in me I do have the God given ability to do just that.

Good points Limit Lander  . Some people find it hard to except that not all people have the choice to call on the Lord for salvation. What I am trying to say is that God in his Soverignty has ordained who he will call to salvation. God uses people to bring glory to him self in what ever way he wants. We can not understand this because His ways are not our ways, how could they be he is a Holy sinless God.

I agree with you intirely...scripture explictly tells us...."I chose you....you did not choose me"...it is a subject that will be confusing to many untill we will be taken away...thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit giving us the Faith to just agree when sometimes we dont understand.

Fishalot...Romans tells us something that will be forever in my heart forever and that is...God knew us and chose us before the foundation of the world....absalutly amazing..forwhosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved...that "forwhosoever calls" means "in desperate need" many call who are not in desperate need, there in selfish need, therefore their salvation is not deep rooted its shallow. Jesus spoke on the sermon on the mount, "Blessed are those who hunger and thurst for rightesness (spelling) sake!. the thief on the cross was in desperate need he called out our Lord saw his need and it was not shallow. Like so many death bed repentance many times in desperatd need, we cannot judge at the final moment on earth if one is truly sincere. only God knows that. but when our Lord said "Today you shall be with me in paradise" I think the Lord knew his heart.
