Was wondering if anyone uses any salt removal products like salt-x or salt terminator to flush their motors and wash their boat. Not sure if they work any better than plain water but it sounds like a good idea anyway.

I use them to flush my motors and wash my boat. Get the concentrated and just put it on your hose. The other thing I do is spray the block of my motor with Corrosion block at the begining of the season and after every trip when the motor has cooled down, I remove the cowling and lightly spray my motor. You would be amazed to find how much salt can get inside your motor cowling and on your motor on a normal ocean halibut or tuna run.

Salt Away Flush for motor, washing of boat and for spraying down engine.
Have used to completely wash the engine down at the end of the season, then blow dry everything. Spray OMC corrossion oil over engine and acessories.

Wax boat and polish all SST afterwards for winter layup.Works pretty good.

Use salt Away after every ocean run, pull the thermostate housing and you will see a reddish tint on the metal surface. The salt away puts a film on the metal and helps control the salt build up and rust on the block and manifolds.. When you pull your finger across the surface, there is no rust color or metal flakes on your finger.

My last boat had 15 years of raw water cooling ran thru it.
I had to acid wash the manifolds twice in 15 years of use. The boat is still running today with the same engine and exhaust manifolds. SO I think these products really help if used a lot.

Thanks for the feedback. I put an order in and plan on using it.
