How do I determine the dimensions on my prop (90 hp Honda)? I can't find any numbers on it. I know I need the diameter and the pitch. The diameter is easy to measure. Is there a method to measuring the pitch or do I need a special tool?

My stock aluminum hondas are stamped on the outside by the blade root. A prop shop can measure them but yours should be marked. Did you take it off and check the front and the back? You can get a pretty good idea by setting them next to similiar props of known pitch.

Many are stamped on the inner rear where the exhaust exits, not sure about Honda.

Nope, haven't taken it off yet (new boat to me). I guess it's time to buy a prop wrench. This prop doesn't allow me to get up much above 5,000 RPM so I want to buy a new prop that will and make this one my backup prop.

Thanks for the tips.

Crescent wrench works. 1 inch pitch change equals 4-500 RPM.

I just took the prop off of a F200 Yamaha earlier today. It was marked on the back side of the inner hub.
