Would like a longer power line for Min Kota 30. How does the wire attach under the plastic of the motor head? Is it hard to do? Or should I lengthen the cord the additional two feet?

I am assuming it is a tiller style and you just want your battery a couple feet further away right?? If I am mistaken then forget this posting but if I am right then try this..
Gor to the electrical auto supply shop in your town and buy two pieces 8 gauge wire in black and red whatever length you want. Buy some connectors to go to the screw posts of the battery and crimp them onto one end of each wire. For the other end buy two electrical terminals that simply get smashed onto the bare wire at the other end.
Now you can run the wire from your battery and the existing alligator clamps of you motor hook onto the terminals of your extension piece.
Some type of foam insulation like pipe insulation must be used over each aligator clamp to keep them from contacting the metal of you boat our the other clamp. I put a 40 amp fuse on my extension piece just to be safe.
Now you can put your battery anywhere in the boat.
If you want to run from one end of the boat to the other you may want to go with six-gauge wire.

Ya know...I did this set up on my little boat and by putting the battery up in the bow it kept me from pulling wheelies around the lakes...It works fine but now that I see my directions in print it makes me wonder if there was a better way or an improvement over the way I did mine?
I am no electrician and a pretty [celery sticks!]-poor handy man too. My tool box contains a pounder and a turner so everybody else please share your wisdom on this type of boat mod and electical set up cause the more I think about it the less I would want to take advice from someone like me.

I really would like to run new non spliced wire from the Min Kota Endura 30 (tiller style) to the aligator clips that go on the battery. Stock power cord is 2 feet short of my battery given proper out of the way routing.
So just how does the power cord wires attach to the motor and is it hard to do? I do apreciate the previous advice but want a non splice connection to eliminate possible problems and lower resistance.
Thanks much

I don't know about the Endura, but on my powerdrive bow mount, the power cord just goes through a strain relief clamp and then plugs into the motor head with spade connectors. It would be a piece of cake to lengthen it.
