Focus on the Family provides an excellent internet resource, called “Plugged-In”, for parents who desire to gain an insight to the many forms of entertainment media we and our kids are exposed to. Reviews from a Christian perspective are provided for movies, music and TV. I have found it to be a valued resource as a parent. If a movie comes out I always like to check it out here first, TV shows you name it…it’s really quite good. I hope it will be of benefit to people here as it has helped my family screen the filth.

Thanks, rimrock. A couple weeks ago, we wasted $20 in gas to get to the theater, $15 on movie tickets, and $3 for a bottle of water only to walk out on the show after 20 minutes. "It's got to get better," we thought. It didn't, and we left.
We've seen maybe 6 movies in the theater in 2 years, walked out of 2 of them.

I know what you’re talking about. So many movies and soooo few to see. Last movie I went to with a group of men from church even for a night out I ended up walking out of. I didn’t check it out on plugged-in first, ended up wasting time and money :hoboy:. Read the review later when I got home, should have read it before I’d still have my $
Certainly this isn’t just for parents, but for those concerned with protecting their walk. The various forms of media influence I don’t care who you are, it just simply will! What goes in through the ear and eye affect the heart and mind – good or bad. As I have striven starting a few years back to finally take seriously what I expose my heart and mind to, my closeness with God has increased as it would for anyone. My thought life my not be faultless but is much purer than when I deceived myself into thinking this is all “harmless” stuff…whatever it’s not like I’ve murdered anyone, bit deal it's a TV show/movie . It’s my prayer for any Christian to take media serious and the effect it has, whether we do or not, God takes it serious He is about goodness and wants that for us. The media can be very fun entertainment, but it’s not about protecting your intimacy with God and those close to you that’s for sure. To them it's just about $$$$. Plugged-in isn’t the be all end all, but it’s been a great aid.

I couldn't agree with you more. :flowered:
Here's another pretty good site for movies:

However rimrock, we still don't agree on the Ducks and Beavers!

Thanks for the link Dullhook, I put it in my favorites. It’s a real nice site.
And really don’t worry God’s grace is sufficient to forgive you for being a Duck…just barely though. You know the eleventh commandment “Tho shall not be a Duck fan” (BNT) – that’s the Beaver Nation Translation, one of my favorites.
