Hoping the crowds are gone, I would like to get out with my son and brother and get some good fishing in. I have had some good reports for Wickiup for Kokes and browns. But would really like to explore Crane. I'm looking for camping areas that I can launch the boat and leave in the water, close to camp, for the weekend. Hows quinn or rocky point at Crane. Or maybe Gull at Wickiup. As a recent transplant from the valley I love having these tough decisions  any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking I may have to change my username to Kokanee Krazed due to lack of steelhead in the area
Thanks

Hey MM,
I can't respond about the fishing conditions at either of the lakes, hopefully someone in the Bend area will chime in. I can help with the camping though, do Quinn if you fish Crane, it is a great campground and all the folks I have met there are great. Park your boat in the Quinn river and walk to camp. I don't know what the lake level is but I have never had a problem with finding parking for the floating vehicle. Don't leave any valuables in the boat overnight though as we were ripped off several years ago, hasn't happened since but be smart.
Good luck to you, please report back!

If you fish Crane here is the offical water level site, hope it helps.....another note is to fish the Quinn channel use a slip bobber setup with a night crawler just above the grass. If the grass is visable or use your sonar to locate the bottom and zoom in and it will tell you how tall the grass is, have your worm about 6-12 inches above the grass. Good luck and tight lines.

Rocky Point can also be a good place to camp and leave the boat at the waters edge. This time of year fishing off Osprey point can be good.
They're not that far apart, I'd drive to both areas and see which campground you like the best.
good luck,
Gregg
