hey guys! do you guys use those boat towers or frames (not sure exactly what to call them) tubular steel frames analagous to a truck roll bar i guess.. for mounting pole holders, antennas, etc. do they have an aftermarket place in the nw? i want one for my duckworth. i assume they are aluminum or stainless. 1.5 diameter or 2. sound expensive either way. a welding house could do one custom to fit. what do you guys put on your sleds?

On a ski boat they are usually called wakeboard towers, on a sled they are normally radar arches, whether or not they are equipped with radar. Some sleds have wakeboard towers, and some ski boats have radar arches, though;) It's brushed aluminum, and so is every other one I've seen, although stainless would likely work fine if you are the crafty type and have some laying around.

Here's a crappy picture of my rod holders. I wouldn't go without them, it gets the rods out of the way and out of harm's way (size 12 boots).

matt you fish out a four winns!! nice boat. brushed alum. i have a friend who owns a welding shop so i may just design my own arch. i was hoping to get a small radar for next year. one guy called those pole holders mounted to a frame "rocket launchers". so i want those and a radar platform and an antenna plat. sounds like i have to have a custom fabrication done. thanks for the picture. scott.

Pick up an issue of Salmon Troutand Steelhead mag. There is always an advertisment for Barewest out of Lake Oswego, they do custum towers for all types of boats.

My last boat had an radar arch w/five rocket launchers on top, a flat mounting space for a radar, a ski tow hook and net/gaff holders on the side... I am kicking myself for not putting one on my hard-top MM LXV - even though I've got the rocket launchers on the hard-top already, I sure miss the net & gaff holders on the sides to get em out of the way. Motion can build them, but they are $$$. I've heard barewest is pricey too.

MM uses a powder coat process for painting most of their boats & stuff. I've been happy with the durability of their powder coated paint - on my 2nd MM boat. just wish I opted for the arch on the new boat. Can add it I guess, but just seems harder to part with the $$$ after the boat delivery.

Does anyone make a folding tower? I have a 20' Seahawk that I store in the garage, and a tower won't fit unlees it folds down.

I'd love to get radar, but until I figure out how to get the boat in the garage with a tower I'm SOL.

Mine collapses, it wasn't optional.

This is with the trailer jack lowered all the way, just high enough so the wheel still spins around for maneuvering. The tower is also mounted slightly lower on the boat than normal (normally the support bar is dead even with the top of the window frame), otherwise it wouldn't go in the garage. It only slightly affects visibility when underway mounted like that. I don't look out the side windows much, they are low enough as it is. It will also collapse forward.

Custom built is the way to go if you have the resources. I made mine out of 1.5" SS and painted to match my boat. I like the pole holders on the side better than the top plus I added the net holder on both sides also.

nice tower vudo. i think ill have to do the custom as well. i live up here so i cant really have one shipped without extra freight costs so it might as well be in the budget to get a welder friend to do the labor. im a custom trim carpenter so i can handle the angles and templates and just sub out the work. thanks for the picture. nice. scott

I have a Barewest ProZone T5W on my Intruder and LOVE it. It does "colapse" by removing the front two bolts and laying it down in the back. Best upgrade I have made to the boat.

I'll post a pic soon!
