View Full Version : Looking for a new Lab

I got the green-light to get a new lab, but with some conditions. Ideally he/she is 12-36 months and has been given basic obedience training (house broken, sit, and stay, down, come, heel, drop and such) and started or hunted a bit.

It should be able to live indoors as part of the family, be good with a 5 year old child, and live in harmony with our old cat. It will be loved as part of the family and have a nice big yard to play in as we have 1/2 acre that is fenced. He/she will get out to hunt waterfowl 20-25 times a year, upland 5-10 times a year, and get plenty of fishing and romping in nature with the family. I know this type of dog is not going to be found easily.

While unfortunate, life has many twists and turns. Perhaps a divorce, relocation or some other event that causes someone to find a new home for their dog. So if you know a sportsman/woman who has a special furry friend and needs to find their dog a good sporting/family home...please let me know. We are willing to pay for this dog but honestly, not what a breeder would command. We have no set timeline as we are just hoping the right dog becomes available.

Thanks for your help,

Jim O'Leary

Why not your dog, Cliff?

Why not your dog, Cliff?

Because I am being very selective and looking for a dog that has had more training than what Cliff's dog has had. After talking with Cliff on the phone, I decided to find a dog that is has had a little more training that what Cliff's appears to have. Not saying his dog is a bad dog, just not the right one for our family.
