My glas drift boat was built with a vertical stern for as the original owner said " for use in tidewater with a motor ".
This rear vert stern is 16" high . The electric trolling motor I have on there clears the boat by 3 inches ( motor shaft is this much behind the very back of the boat )when in the water and the electric motor housing actualaly tucks under the curvature of the bottom.
My ? to Ya'll is: can I hang a gas kicker on there without the drive section touching the boat ? All the pics of kickers I've seen seem to suggest there would be a couple inches of clearance.
Do I need a stand off brackett ?
Please advise,
